Choreographer, performer, producer. Ogmia’s Artistic Director.

Asturias, Spain. Director and choreographer, he has developed his professional career in classical and contemporary dance in different European and Middle Eastern institutions, complementing his training and knowledge in martial arts, plastic arts, photography and dramaturgy. In 2018 she founded Batbox Productions, which serves as an infrastructure for his own projects, and in 2019 she founded his company Ogmia, with which she has received various support and residencies from institutions such as: Compañía Nacional de Danza, Centro Coreográfico Canal, Teatro del Canal, Teatro del Bosque, INAEM, Comunidad de Madrid, Ayuntamiento de Madrid, among others.

With his first creation with Ogmia, “No Time to Rage”, Eduardo is a candidate for the MAX Awards in four categories: best dance show, best choreography, best male performer and best musical composition for stage show. He is selected for the Think Big residencies, creating a piece with a premiere at the TANZtheater International Hannover 2021 and in the same year he wins three prizes at the Masdanza Festival, including the audience award for best solo. In 2022 he premieres his third creation at the 37th Festival Internacional Madrid en Danza and is selected with the same piece for the International Dance Festival and Competition for Choreographers organised by the Tanzplattform Bern. Ogmia and Eduardo Vallejo have performed at festivals such as Festival Internacional Madrid en Danza, Festival Internacional Danza Xixón, TANZ Theatre International Hannover, MASDANZA, Festiwal Teatr i Tanca Zawirowania, Gdansk Festiwal Tanca, Danza en la Villa, Festival Abril en Danza, among others, or in countries such as Spain, Poland, Germany and Switzerland.

In a constant search for his own language, she develops his research process Movimiento Dactilar, which he develops within his research residencies and training processes. It can be defined as an anthropological and cognitive-behavioural analysis of movement. He has also been able to develop his pedagogical work in institutions such as: John Moore Liverpool University / Institute of the Arts, Barcelona, lecture in dance, La Joven Compañía, Jove Companyia de dansa Gerard Collins, Elephant in the Black Box, Conservatorio Superior de Alicante, Conservatorio Profesional José Espadero and Proyecto Good with the support of Institut Valencia, Espai la Granja and L’Escorxador, Danza 180, Modern Event & WorkLab, among others.

Eduardo Vallejo’s work takes on a formal and poetic force that translates into an unmistakable style. His recurring themes are and will continue to be decisive in his career, such as political and social criticism, gender roles, interpersonal relationships and their consequences or concepts attached to specific periods of history.
